Performances

"Into a Woman's Lunacy" is a piece by composer Yi-Ning Lo  commissioned by soundSCAPE in 2021. Derived from Medea's monologue in the eponymous play by Euripides, Yi-Ning offers a new perspective on women's madness, anger, and motherhood. This performance was in Eastman School of Music's Hatch Recital Hall on November 6th, 2021.

"Fire and Ice" by Fred Lerdahl is a contemplation on the poem by the same name of Robert Frost. This performance was recorded on April 3rd, 2023, with Riley Collier playing contrabass.

Recent Premieres

"Selves" by Yi-Ning Lo contains the scattered reflections of a woman who has developed various selves as coping mechanisms. With this piece, Yi-Ning Lo won OSSIA New Music's Student Commission Proposal. The premiere was part of OSSIA's "Fire-Taming" concert in Eastman School of Music's Hatch Recital Hall on April 11th, 2023, with Emily Claman (piccolo) and Zoe Markle (double bass).

"feelings stuck" by Kate Ragan was premiered in Eastman School of Music's Hatch Recital Hall on February 28th, 2023. The piece is designed to capture spontaneous, emotional utterances along an individual's journey of grief.
